virtual assistant cost comparison

Posted in Virtual Office | No Comments »

A few days ago I was comparing labor costs between European countries in the Eurostat web site with a customer. They had carried out transactions of the United Kingdom, Spain and Poland. Despite my company, XL Global BPO has centers in Romania and Albania.

I realized in labor costs double (almost exactly) between these countries.

  • Albania: 250 € Â
  • Romania: 500 € Â
  • Poland: 1,000 € Â
  • Spain: 2.000 € Â
  • UK: 4.000 € Â

And each country has its own value proposition for outsourcing services:

  • United Kingdom: excellent infrastructure and a wide availability of excellent skills
  • Spain: countries with lower cost to the West
  • Poland: first country Eastern Europe to join the EU. Although skills and stability
  • Romania: Current price leader in the EU for support multilingual
  • Albania (and others in southern Baltic): the lowest cost emerging Europe

With all these options, customers are increasingly sophisticated in choosing the best location for outsourcing business processes, and try to balance the costs with local knowledge, the stability of the country, ease of travel, etc.

More and more companies are subcontractors are obliged to offer a range of different sites to their customers what many call a better model of the coast.

The good news is that I do not see a significant effect on labor market activities ranging from country to country. In fact, the overall market is growing and many losses jobs were quickly offset by new ones.

Forrester projects that total spending on BPO in the EU will increase from € 11.0 billion in 2006 to € 18.9 billion in 2011. And, since many of these expenses is in emerging countries, the total number of people employed in the outsourcing business will grow much more than the value of market.Â
