Are there legitimate virtual jobs? ?
I am a US citizen who is travelling out of the country at the moment and want to work to supplement my income. I have an office, a bachelors degree and 10+ years office experience; my skillset most closely resembles an executive assistant for the purpose of online employment. I am not willing to a) pay money, b) franchise, c) sell products/services d) perform illegal act. Has anyone thoroughly researched legitimate virtual assistant jobs or the like?
There are work-from-home-online jobs that are real, but virtually all of them involve an employee at a normal physical workplace who’s become both necessary and utterly trusted and whose situation is changed so s/he needs to be at home (or somewhere other than the workplace).
Those employees may be able to make arrangements with their employers to do what they do from any remote location, staying in contact by other means rather than being present. My husband’s employer does this for some employees (it’s great for maternity leave, hospitalizations, etc. if the person feels well enough) and my brother-in-law has done it, in both those situations for a matter of months, not indefinitely.
Legitimate employers who’ll hire to fill virtual jobs don’t seem to exist.
