Should I use wine or a virtual box in Linux (Ubuntu) for MS Office 2007?
[Please do not say that I can use Open Office. Like any code open, but for professional reasons I absolutely have to use Word 2007, etc, due to problems with docx files and macros that do not work in Word that are issued and no work OO is equivalent.] This program gives me a dual boot as I'm almost in my Linux learning curb and really just want to leave Windows for ever. Is running wine or a virtual box the best option in terms of simplicity and efficiency? Thank you very much:) Wubi? I do not want to run Ubuntu from Windows, on the contrary … I'm using 8.04. Believe me, I studied the options and less to spend several months of programming to create more than a little OO MS Word (and my programming skills are lacking) I can not help the problem without using the word. simple question: Is WINE VB or better for my situation?
If you frequently work in the office, and uses Linux for all other work that the two solutions will save you time that would happen in the second half. Office work perfectly within Virtual Box, but you still disk space required for installation of Windows and Windows license, so (I believe OEM license is not transferable). virtual machine also need some RAM at runtime, enough for Windows and Office, but this probably will not be a problem in any relatively modern PC. By VIN has problems no doubt, but it must be tested if it works for you. Look http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=31 advantage without hard disk space for Windows, Windows unlicensed, unless RAM used when running the application without having to wait until Windows is started within the virtual machine. Hope this helps.
