As global warming increases and more people are becoming more aware of the environment, many organizations implement policies Environmental and procedures in their offices as part of its mandate, the corporate social responsibility.

HBOS, Cooperative Financial Services and the National Company magazine are among the organizations that have gone green and are all in the top 10 companies in the Sunday Times Best Green Awards 2008.

Going Green does not involve spending more money and in many cases, companies actually save money.

In that spirit, here are 10 simple steps to a greener office:

1. Make sure all equipment and appliances are turned on at night and weekends. This includes computers, printers, scanners, photocopiers, boilers, etc.

2. Use a fax to email service rather than a traditional fax Email machine.Fax works in conjunction with the phone numbers non-geographic (0845 numbers, 03 numbers, etc) This allows you to receive all faxes to a designated email account. In this way, you will not lose the role it can print only the faxes that you need and you save money on ink and maintenance costs.

3. Buy recycled paper.

6. Buy an office of the factory – a green plant produce more oxygen for the office.

7. Use window shades to prevent leakage keep warm in winter and cool in summer.

8. Have separate containers for recycling bottles and cans.

9. Encourage employees to car share or Better yet, promote the project cycle. UK government figures show that 18% of all emissions emissions of greenhouse gases are the result of transport road.

10. Provides online instructions. Save paper by giving customers the opportunity to view their statements online – This will also save money.

As you can see, many of the above suggestions are minor changes, but can have a major impact on the environment, staff morale and budgets that going green is the new black.
